This was a quick 2 day project to create a fully Nanite enabled environment as a stress test for our engine team. We had previously only used Nanite on manmade architecture and we wanted to more fully adopt it for organics.
This valley was created as procedurally as possible. The height map was made in Gaea but everything else avoids prebaking offline. There are no splatmaps/weightmaps for the landscape, it's all done in an auto material. I also used procedural techniques for spawning rocks, small vegetation and trees. There are some quickly modelled up geodesic domes placed in the level as LevelInstances just to test out internal + external areas. I also iterated on our clouds material a bit for this project,
